Today is the National Day Of Prayer…
…at least in the United States. There may be other nations that celebrate the first Thursday in May as well. I really don’t know. But with that, I wanted to share with you two surprisingly good (and short) articles about the event and prayer in general. Surprisingly good because they’re from secular sources, not religious ones, namely, Fox News and the Washington Post.
The first article lists 10 reasons why prayer is the ultimate protest, which are also 10 reasons why we should pray in general. Read that article here.
The second article gives a nice defense for why we should have a national day of prayer, that it’s not just a nationalistic rally like some people fear, but rather a common desire for the betterment of the world. Read that article here.
Lastly, I remind you that the Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 that we are to pray for all people, especially for all those in authority, so we can live peaceful and godly lives with our dignity intact:

Blessings to you!
